Its important for us all to know and remember that in times of trials and calamities, we need to put all our trust and hope in the Lord!! Facing this difficult period with the outbreak of the deadly CoronaVirus #COVID19 , we call upon the Orthodox Faithful, upon all the people of God, to stay strong in Prayer and to be cautious with their life. Our father the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, THEODOROS II, blesses and advises us to comply and abide by the measures of our political leaders in the move to fight and defeat the COVID19 Pandemic. Therefore let us limit our movements & big gatherings, clean our hands often, lets be more Prayerful & more Careful, for our safety and that of others around us.

Our Diocese consists of the 2 poorest regions of the country. Eastern Uganda with great poverty and drought, but also Northern Uganda, which has been at war for many years. So far people are still trying to overcome the consequences of war. Lives were lost, homes and temples destroyed.

They are all done slowly from the beginning with the love of people. Most people in these areas of ours are poor, our Temples are in need of renovation and some others are not complete.

The metropolis consists of 30 priests, 50 catechists, 19 Temples of which 7 are inaugurated, 50 communities, 5 medical centers and 7 schools. The difficult task of the Metropolis is fulfilled by some priests who remain for a long time without financial support and this makes our work very difficult.

Our New Diocese is still at the level of organization and organization. Lack of financial resources and support makes our organization and activities very difficult and a cause for concern. That is why we have forwarded this request to you, that some financial support to meet the many, basic, and varied daily needs of the Metropolis and priests will greatly help us as we continue our organization.With sincerely Crist love in the Lord

In front of thousands of wounded people

Of course you all know the story of Good Samaritan and how he treated with love and compassion the wounded, abandoned and naked he found in his path. And our Lord points out in this story that he stopped, bounded his wounds, loaded him on his donkey and took him to an inn, stayed with him all night and because apparently the wounded needed time to recover, he agreed to pay the inn owner the cost of the treatment.Imagine now, after looking back at this story, the same person, Samaritan, been in front of not one wounded but hundreds of wounded and abandoned, almost half-dead people !!!

What would he do? He had just a little oil and some wine with him … He had only a few clothes to cut and bandage … He had just a little donkey who could barely carry two wounded … What would he do with the rest?

If you could stop all your thinking for just a couple of minutes and each of you take the place of the Samaritan in front of hundreds of wounded. If you could do that you would have somehow approached the daily difficulty of all the missionaries.

But this is the reality of the Mission in Africa, the continent under exploitation to this day, which you either do not accept and mentally kills you or accept and fight with it. Deocese of CameroonSt Gregory

THE ONLY DINNER OF THE DAY

Dear Friends of the Mission,

As I was sitting at my desk again and planning the day, suddenly the kitchen manager for the kids came in. He stood in front of me and kindly and humbly said to me: “You are respected, we have entered a new week; today is Wednesday and you have not yet given us the money for the food program. We ask for your advice.

We are talking about the food program of the 350 children of the kindergarten and St. Clement’s primary school, located in our Metropolitan area. Does anyone understand my position!

Of course this was not the first time, since there is no permanent and consistent support in this program, since our Metropolis has so many other similar programs in our various orphanages and schools.

Under no circumstances will we leave these little children fast, no matter how difficult it is. Our Lord’s love, mercy, and extreme approval always appear in such cases.

We are grateful to all those who come in and support us, especially in the field of education, with these little children who come from poor families or are orphaned. So please pass on to everyone who is eager to support us in our food program for these little children, who would otherwise be fasting. Think of it as the only food of the day that we offer. We know they will be fasting at night! So we try to find ways and means to give them an evening sandwich in the afternoon.
